JESC 2018 | Wales' Junior 'Chwilio Am Seren' Begins Tonight


Wales' journey into Junior Eurovision officially begins tonight as the national broadcaster for Cymru, S4C airs the first of its three shows in which Wales searches for a star to represent the small principality at this years Junior Eurovision to be held in Minsk.

The first episode of 'Chwilio am seren' has been pre-recorded, and will show, and highlight the channels search for the first ever Junior Eurovision entrant. The cameras were there early in the summer, across several locations such as Llandudno, Aberystwyth and Cardiff to follow the audition process. The show has aimed to search all of Wales, and find the countries biggest, and brightest young talent.

It will be presented by Trystan Ellis Morris, who will show the best of Wales' musical talent, and, uncover Wales' very first Junior Eurovision entrant. There will be three mentors, Stifyn Parri, Connie Fisher and Tara Bethan who will be there to guide, and advise the chosen few singers.

The team hoping to find Wales' first Junior Eurovision star

The team will aim to select 20 of the hopefuls and push them forward to the mentoring process. After that it is up to the panel to try and find the best six to perform, and compete in the live Grand Final to be held in Llandudno on the 9th October. It will be up to the public vote to then decide who they want as Wales' representative in Minsk.

This year has marked the first year that Wales has been present in the competition, and will be one of a record breaking twenty nations who will bid to win Europe's most prestigious musical crown.

Viewers in Wales can see the show live on S4C at 20:00 BST (21:00 CET), and for those in the other parts of the UK, this show can be watched via the BBC iplayer website. Please be aware those outside of the UK will not be able to watch this show due to it being geographically blocked by the BBC.
