'Flying The Flag' launches its 2018 charity campaign

Have you heard the one about the Eurovision fansite that raffles a flag every year and donates all of the money raised to charity? You have now.

Flying The Flag has been raffling Eurovision-themed flags since 2013, with past flag campaigns including a UK-themed flag in 2013, ABBA The Flag in 2014 - when all four members of ABBA signed a flag to celebrate the 40th anniversary since their Eurovision 1974 victory in Brighton, The Sound of Vienna in 2015 and a Eurovision 2017 flag signed by many of the artists who took part in the contest in Lisbon last year... and the best part about every flag campaign is that the money raised is donated to the charity, Bloodwise, which funds research into the many different types of blood cancer.

In the latest chapter of a wonderful rise, Flying The Flag, in partnership with Eurovoix, has officially launched their 2018 flag campaign, where the winner will receive a beautifully-designed flag signed by Sir Cliff Richard, a signed copy of Sir Cliff's Platinum Collection CD box set, a Sir Cliff branded 'Congratulations' cap and a bottle of wine fresh from Sir Cliff's vineyard in Portugal - and all of this 50 years on from Sir Cliff Richard finishing second for the United Kingdom in Eurovision 1968 with the song 'Congratulations'.

Flying The Flag's 2018 charity flag was designed by Eurovoix editor, Samuel Deakin. Previous flags were designed by Ben Morris, the man behind Europops (previously known as Minipops), which every year produces a range of Eurovision-themed merchandise carrying Ben's own illustrations of the artists competing in that year's contest.

Flying The Flag was founded in 2012 by British-born Eurovision fan, Dale Roberts after his wife, Karen, twice suffered Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Combining his love of Eurovision and his wife's survival, Dale came up with the idea of raising money every year for the charity then-known as Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research to help those suffering from forms of blood cancer - and thus, Flying The Flag was born.
