Netherlands 2005 | Glennis Grace leaps in to the America's Got Talent Final!

September 13, 2018

Earlier this summer, the Dutch powerhouse Glennis Grace impressed American audiences with her incredible rendition of Whitney Houston's 'Run To You'. Two weeks ago in the quarter finals, she did it again with a breathtaking performance of 'Never Enough' from The Greatest Showman and just when we thought she couldn't outdo herself, this week Glennis performed in the Semi Finals of America's Got Talent Season 13, performing 'This Woman's Work' by Kate Bush. Last night, after winning Google's Dunkin' Donut Instant Save, she advanced to the final where she will perform one last time next week in the hope of winning the competition.

Whilst the top three of the public vote advanced immediately, Glennis made up the three acts that finished fourth to sixth in the vote - meaning that she progressed to the instant save round. America then had thirty minutes in a snap vote to choose who they wanted to see in the final and when the results were revealed it was announced that Glennis came out on top - beating opera singer Daniel Emmet and band We Three - to earn herself a place as a finalist. Next week, Glennis will compete against the other nine finalists still in the competition in the hopes of winning the title and grand prize. The winner receives a very large cash prize of $1,000,000 and also a chance to headline a show on the Las Vegas Strip. You can check out her semi final performance below:

Thirteen years ago, songstress Glennis Grace represented the Netherlands at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest and despite her soulful ballad 'My Impossible Dream' being expected to do well the powerhouse vocalist narrowly failed to make the finals of the contest finishing fourteenth out of twenty five. Last month, Jess from Team Eurovoxx had the chance to catch up with Esther Hart, who represented Netherlands in 2003 - make sure to check out the interview!
