JESC 2018 | BTRC reveal the stage design

The Belarussian broadcaster BTRC have revealed the stage and green room designs for the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Belarussian TV channel ATN aired a short documentary last night (August 31st) where they talked about how preparations are coming along for the contest and what the stage and green room will look like. They spoke with many people involved with the contest, including TEO (Belarus 2014), who wrote the theme song "Light Up", as well as the General Director of BTRC, Ivan Eismont and Artistic Director, Galina Gomonova.

From the images that BTRC released in the documentary, we can see that the stage has LED screens, with a long circular screen above the stage, similar to Eurovision 2009 in Moscow and a smaller, satellite stage to the left of the main stage. There are also lighting strips that are coming out of the stage, similar to Eurovision 2011 in Dusseldorf.

The green room is situated in the arena, to the right of the main stage. The green room is a little different to previous years, with the layout and design mimicking that of The Eurovision Song Contest. There are twenty separate booths for each of the twenty competing countries.

The Minsk arena, with a capacity of up to 15,000, will be the largest arena to host Junior Eurovision since the 2015 contest in Sofia, Bulgaria, which had a capacity of up to 12,000, and the stage also looks set to be the biggest stage since 2015.
