First Act Of Melodifestivalen 2019 Is Confirmed
The first act that'll compete in Melodifestivalen 2019 has been decided and announced, and it is duo The Lovers Of Valdaro.

The pair were selected to compete in the competition after competing in the final of P4 Nästa. Despite not winning the trophy on the night, which used to guarantee the winners a spot in the competition, they were handpicked for one of the 14 spots SVT reserves for the competition and are filled by acts and singers who are approached and invited to compete in the contest by the broadcaster. The other 14 spots will be selected and filled after the entries have been heard by a jury which crosses ages, genders and musical styles and influences. The final 28 acts competing are normally announce in full in a live press conference, traditionally taking place in the final week of November.
The duo performed "Lost Forever" in the eight act final, however as songs which compete in Melodifestivalen and Eurovision cannot be performed live or only music format before September 1st 2018, The Lovers Of Valdaro will work on a brand new song for the competition.
The wildcard spot from the P4 Nästa has become somewhat of an poisoned chalice in the grand scheme of the competition, no wildcard entry has ever progressed beyond their semi final, with only two ever making into the top five of their heat and into the second round of voting, in 2018 Stiko Per Larsson was selected as the wildcard entry and performed the song "Titta Vi Flyger" (Look, We're Flying) but only placed sixth in the second semi final, nearly 200 thousand votes adrift from fifth place.
