Israeli broadcaster KAN have officially launched their search for their Junior Eurovision 2018 participant and have made an open call for all young singers interested in representing their country at Junior Eurovision 2018 in Belarus to apply. All interested singers must be between the ages of 9 to 14 and they have until August 19th to apply.
It is unknown yet whether or not the broadcaster will organise a televised show, or if they will select their act and song internally.
Israel has previously participated in Junior Eurovision on 2 occasions - in 2012 where they finished in 8th place with "Let The Music Win" sung by the group Kids.IL and more recently in 2016 when Tim and Shir finished in 15th place with "Follow My Heart".
Wales will be making their debut on the Eurovision scene at the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Belarus and the Welsh broadcaster, S4C, have confirmed that they will host a televised national final, Chwilio am Seren (Search For a Star) on October 9th at "Venue Cymru" in Llandudno.
In May, the broadcaster made an open call for singers and in June, auditions were held. 12 participants were selected from the audition stage to advance onto the mentoring stage, where they were given the opportunity to develop their skills with three experienced mentors. 6 acts will then be chosen to advance to the live televised national final, with the winner being chosen by a combination of tele voting and jury voting.
The 3 experienced mentors are Connie Fisher, a British actor, singer and television presenter; Stifyn Parri, an actor and Tara Bethan, a Welsh actress, singer and television presenter. They will be joined by Trystan Ellis-Morris, who will be hosting the show.
Maltese broadcaster TVM announced that they will be holding a national final on September 8th to find their singer for Junior Eurovision 2018. This will be the first time since 2010 that Malta is holding a national final for Junior Eurovision. A total of 16 singers will battle it out to win the ticket to Minsk, Belarus.
The Macedonian broadcaster, MRT, have made an open call for artists who are interested in representing the country at Junior Eurovision 2018, and they have until August 16th to do so. On August 18th, an expert panel will listen to all of the applications and chose the singer. Once the singer has been chosen, the song will be chosen no more than 15 days later.
