The X Factor is launching its debut season in Malta later this year, and today the the judging lineup was announced in full, which involves some previous Eurovision experience on the panel.

Malta have made the bold decision to scrap their longstanding Malta Eurovision Song Contest selection show, opting for the The X Factor Malta, the winner of the debut season will go on to represent Malta in Israel in 2019, and today the judging lineup was revealed, and they are: Howard Keith Debono, Ray Mercieca, Alexandra Alden and Eurovision 2002 runner-up Ira Losco.
All four judges have experience in the Maltese music scene spanning over decades between the four of them, Ira, Alexandra and Ray are all credited songwriters also, so if the winning act comes from their group of category, could we see them involved in the winners song for Eurovision?
