Deep Zone Project releases anthem for Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championship
Deep Zone Project, the Bulgarian representative at Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade, released a new song yesterday on their official YouTube channel.
The song is called "Golden Girls" and it will be the official anthem of 36th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships 2018, which will be held in Sofia from 10th to 16th September.
The name of the song is symbolic for Bulgarian National Team because they are known as the "Golden Girls" all around the world. Behind the idea of the song stands a former golden girl and President of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, Ilyana Raeva.
A lot of gold brocade was used during the filming of the video. The film features gymnasts and fans from different countries sharing a dance movement that symbolizes a throbbing heart. The key role in the video is played by the rhythmic gymnast Radina Filipova, elected as a mascot of the championship.

Deep Zone Project have worked on the music and arrangement of the song, with Christina Karamfilova performing the Bulgarian folklore motifs. The English lyrics have been written by Rachel Rowe.
The song is in a contemporary dance style with a memorable melody that includes a Bulgarian folklore accent specially exquisite by Iliana Raeva.
Behind the campaign is the Virginia Records team. The song is dedicated both to Bulgarian athletes and the magic of sport to unite people from different parts of the world.
"I have invited the Deep Zone Project to make an anthem for the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, which will be played during the performance of all the participating countries. The song is very memorable and suitable for the mood that we are expecting for this great event for Bulgaria. On all the great European and world champions in rhythmic gymnastics, only the Bulgarians are called golden girls, from where comes the idea of the name of the song and the lyrics." says Raeva.
