Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG yet to decide Eurovision 2019 participation
Following a streak of poor results for Montenegro, who last qualified for the final in 2015 with 'Adio' by Knez, Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG has thrown doubt on the country participating in next years Eurovision Song Contest hosted in Israel by releasing a statement that they are "yet to decide" whether they will participate or not.

After two years of not qualifying with internal selections in 2016 and 2017, with Highway and Slavko Kalezić respectively, RTCG instead decided to select their representative through a national final called 'Montevizija 2018'. This was the first time that the Balkan nation did not select internally since 2008. RTCG received 31 entry submissions and then a panel reviewed and cut the entrants down to a Top 5. Montevizija was ultimately won by Vanja Radovanović with his song 'Inje' however this success was not shared on the Eurovision stage after Montenegro once again failed to qualify for the final finishing 16th position in Semi Final 2 with 40 points.
Whilst details for the Israel hosted 2019 contest are largely unknown, eighteen countries including the hosts have already confirmed their participation with several of these countries already making plans for their selection process. With this news we hope that RTCG will eventually confirm their participation and look forward to seeing what Montenegro will be bringing to Israel next year.
