Malta 2019 | Ben Camille to host X Factor Malta as auditions get underway



The Maltese Broadcaster, TVM, have announced that Ben Camille will be the host for the upcoming X Factor Malta, which the island will use to chose their act for The Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Israel.

Ben was chosen to be the host of X Factor Malta after a nationwide search. Auditions took place at the PAVI Shopping Complex in Qormi and the PAMA Shopping Village in Mosta over the weekend.


Ben Camille is a popular television personality and presenter in Malta, with a string of hosting jobs under his belt, including The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 alongside Valerie Vella and the Malta Eurovision Song Contest (MESC).

It is believed that Ben's role in the show will involve him being backstage with the artists before they go on stage for their auditions as well as announcing the results of each show every week.



Upon receiving the good news, Ben had this to say to TVM:

"This is a dream come true. The X Factor is one of the most prestigious TV formats and I feel humbled with this great opportunity."



Pop-up booths have been erected at the PAVI Shopping Complex and the PAMA Shopping Village, as part of a nationwide recruitment campaign to encourage people to sign up for the show. The pop-up booths will travel to various different locations across the Island on a weekly basis, giving people the opportunity to audition for the show.



The members of the 4 judges is expected to be revealed in the coming weeks as the producer's and representative's of the show are encouraging people to sign up for the show. However, at the moment, the main goal is "to persuade enough people to participate", as was told to MaltaToday by a spokesperson for X Factor Malta.
