Eurovision Royalty Meets British Royalty


It is not often that Eurovision stars get to meet British royalty. However, this has happened in Te Aviv where his Royal Heighness Prince William met with this years Eurovision winner Netta, and 2005 participant Shiri Maimon in Israel. The prince joined Netta in a walk around Tel Aviv where they discussed mental health issues, and diversity.


Netta has said that she is "overwhelmed" at meeting the Duke of Cambridge, and said, "We talked about the way I changed how people feel here in Israel, and self esteem " the singer had told the BBC.


Netta also said of the Prince that, "He's a really, really, chill guy" and that the whole experience was "amazing".


The singer came bearing gifts, and gave William a looping machine which she uses to construct her songs, "I wanted to give him a taste of my world", she also joked to the BBC that maybe he could put it to good use, and lead a royal entry to next years competition.


The young Prince is currently on a five day tour of Israel, the Palestinian territories and Jordan that began on Sunday. It is hoped his visit may bring a calming influence on the region.


Netta won the Eurovision Song Contest in May, just piping Cyprus to the number one spot, scoring 529 points. Since then the singer has been very busy touring Europe, and working hard on a follow up single. The singer is adamant her next penned tune, will be a strong and powerful one.
