France calls for Eurovision 2019 submissions

The Tweet That Has Appeared On Social Media Declaring Submission Period Open
The deadline for submissions is November 30th 2018, and the usual Eurovision rules apply - those being that any song submitted must not have been released commercially before September 1st, vocals must be performed live and songs must have a maximum of six artists performing on the track. Unique to France is the rule that any song submitted must have at least 70% lyrics in French.
France were represented in Eurovision 2018 by Madame Monsieur, the group made up of Émilie Satt and Jean-Karl Lucas and their song 'Mercy', which is based on the true story of a Nigerian girl born on a refugee boat in the Mediterranean during the ongoing European refugee crisis. The song may only have taken France to 13th place with 173 points in the Grand Final in Lisbon, but it is a beautiful song containing a message that clearly resonated across much of Europe. Re-live what happened when Eurovoxx caught up with Madame Monsieur at the Blue Carpet event just before Eurovision week 2018.
Destination Eurovision 2019 will see France return to a televised national final for the second year running, following on from the success of Destination Eurovision 2018 - which was France's first attempt at a Eurovision national final since 2015.
