Number 7 | A countdown of Portugal's best at Eurovision

Continuing Eurovoxx's countdown of our all-time favourite entries from Portugal, we will take a look at the entry we placed 7th. It's the 2007 entry, Sabrina with "Dança comigo (Vem ser feliz)".

Sabrina, born, Maria Teresa Villa-Lobos, first came to prominence when she was part of the Portuguese girl group "Teenagers" from 2003 to 2006. In 2007, she was selected through a casting to take part in Festival da Canção with a song by Emanuel, "Dança comigo (Vem ser feliz)". The song title translates as "Dance with me (Come be Happy)" and although it is mostly sung in Portuguese, it also includes some lyrics in French, English and Spanish. The song won Festival da Canção by a landslide, receiving almost double the amount of votes of the entry in second place.

At Eurovision in Helsinki, Sabrina performed 17th in the semi final. Receiving douze points from Andorra and 10 points from France, Portugal gained a total of 88 points, putting them in 11th place. They were only 3 points away from 10th placed Moldova and therefore, just missed out on qualifying.

After Eurovision, Sabrina went on to marry and have a baby with Portuguese football player, Orlando Sá in 2015. She was also the Portuguese spokesperson in Eurovision 2008.

So, Portugal's 2007 entry is our 7th all-time favourite from Portugal. Who else deserves to be in our countdown? Let us know what you think and check out or list so far!
