Eurovision 2018 | Day 3: The second semi finalists take to the stage for their first rehearsal!
We are back in the Altice Arena for another day of rehearsals and this time, it's the turn of the second semi finanlists to take to the stage for their first rehearsal.
Norway
Alexander Rybak is back with a bang! The Belarussian-born Norwegian singer has kept his staging very similar to how it was in MGP; he has four backing dancers and singers on stage with him, and together, they bring a lot of fun to the stage. Their voices work very well together and they create a good sound om stage.
There are graphics coming onto the screen (the same as in MGP), which is instrumental to his performance, and Alexander, as always, oozes confidence and has a lot of charisma and stage presence.
Romania
Following on from Norway is Romania, and The Humans have kept a similar staging to what we saw at the national final. The band are joined by dancers on stage, wearing white masks to hide their identity, and they interact very well with the band's singer, Cristina. They help to tell a story on stage, and it makes for a very striking performance.
Cristina looked a beautiful as ever wearing a long purple dress and she delivered a very strong vocal performance that only got better as the rehearsals went on.
Serbia
Sanja Ilić and Balkanika have brought the Balkan sound to the Lisbon stage! All of the singers are looking, and sounding great on stage. Their voices work very well together to create a great sound on stage, and their vocals remained very strong throughout all of their run throughs. They also appeared to be very confident on stage, however,
Their staging is very similar to that of their national final staging; it is very simplistic and they make great use of the stage, moving around a lot and interacting very well with each other and with the backing instrumentalists. Just like their national final performance, they are joined on stage by their drummer and flautist.
San Marino
The robots are back for San Marino! Jessika and Jenifer gave a very confident performance on stage and impressed everyone with their strong vocals... and rapping!
Jessika and Jennifer had a great stage presence and interacted very well with each other on stage. We can also see them both interacting with the robots on stage, making them more a part of the performance.
So that's it for the first part of the second semi finalists first rehearsals! Have you had a listen to them yet? If so, let us know what you think!!
