The entry that Macedonia will take forward to Lisbon this May has officially been released. Their entry is called "Lost and Found". The song will be performed by "Eye Cue". The video was premiered on Macedonian television last night on their (MRT) evening news programme Dnevnik 2. The video which is on the official website of Eurovision can be viewed below. Check it out:
The song has already amassed over 171 thousand views, and seems to be a big hit with fans. The song is an up lifting and infectious one, and is superbly performed by the group's lead vocalist Marija Ivanovska. 'Lost and Found' is written by Eye Cue's Bojan Trajkovski and produced by leading Balkan producer Darko Dimitrov.
Of the song Bojan says, "This is a song about deep and unconditional love where one can dive deeper into the world of the unknown and experience the magic of true and powerful love. I hope Eurovision viewers will enjoy the cheerful melody and the charming vocal of Marija."
The video was filmed and produced in Macedoinia's Skopje by director Jovan Kucinovski. In a press release he said, "actually Marija had lot of fun during the video filming and we were really impressed with her energy and enthusiasm during the process. She stayed really focused, so her acting skills saved the day."
One of the artists Marija seems to relish the opportunity to sing for her native country. Of this experience she says, "When I first heard the song, Bojan was playing it on the piano and I instantly liked it, I felt the emotion right away. It took only 20 seconds to fall in love with this melody, I hope the audience will react the same way as I did. I am really excited that I will perform this song on the Eurovision stage and will have a chance to share my emotions with everyone".
F.Y.R Macedonia will perform in semi final 1, which has been dubbed as a "blood bath". Since they joined in 1996, the country has not had the best results. It's best performance to date was a 12th position in 2006. Since the introduction of the semi finals, the country has not faired much better. Macedonia had a few successes in the earlier years, but since 2008 they only managed to qualify once in 2012.
Last year the former Yugoslavian nation was represented by Jana Burčeska with the song, "Dance Alone". It failed to qualify having achieved 15th position. Could "Eye Cue" qualify this year? Please tell us in the comments below.
