JESC 2018 | Russia will hold their national final on June 3rd

It has been announced that Russia will select their entry for Junior Eurovision 2018 in Minsk on June 3rd. The national final will be held at Artek Camp in Crimea.
Russian TV channel Karusel, along with Russian music composer Igor Krutoy, have begun their nationwide search for Russia's entry to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018.
Applications for the national final are open to anyone between the ages of 9 and 14. They are encouraged to to fill out their application before the deadline on March 25th. The application form can be found here: http://jesc-russia.ru/
The successful applicants will get the opportunity to work with Igor Krutoy in his academy, where they will receive help and mentoring for their songs and staging prior to the national final.
Russia in Junior Eurovision:
Russia are one of the most successful countries in Junior Eurovision. They made their debut at the 2005 contest in Hasselt, Belgium, finishing in 9th place out of a field of 16 countries. Since then, they have achieved 8 top 5 placings out of 13 participation's, including 2 wins - in 2006 with the Tolmachevy Sisters (who later went onto sing for Russia at Eurovision 2014) and most recently in 2017 with Polina Bogusevich.
