Five More Artists Qualify From Semi-Final Two Of Eesti Laul


The third Baltic nation to broadcast their pre-selection show is Estonia, who opted for the traditional 'Eesti Laul' to find their representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. Tonight, they broadcast their second and final semi-final.

Estonia's second semi-final consisted of ten singers, and songs, that all battled it out for a place in the grand final which is to be held on the 3rd March 2018. It will be a super Saturday indeed, as that date see's several other countries select their Eurovision entrant. The ten performers and songs were as follows:

Marju Länik- "Täna otsuseid ei tee"

Rolf Roosalu- "Show a Little Love"

Frankie Animal- "(Can’t Keep Calling) Misty"

Eliis Pärna & Gerli Padar- "Sky"

Indrek Ventmann- "Tempel"

Evestus- "Welcome to My World"

Karl Kristjan & Karl Killing feat. Wateva- "Young"

Metsakutsu- "Koplifornia"

Girls in Pearls- "Spellbound"

Nika- "Knock Knock"

The first four artists were chosen by a split 50/50 jury and public vote. Whilst the fifth qualifier was decided by a second round of public voting. The top five artists that qualified were:

Frankie Animal- "(Can’t Keep Calling) Misty"

Eliis Pärna & Gerli Padar- "Sky"

Evestus- "Welcome to My World"

Karl Kristjan & Karl Killing feat. Wateva- "Young"

Nika- "Knock Knock"

Tonight's show was the last semi final. Viewers will have to wait a further two weeks before the final of Eesti Laul which will be held on the 3rd March 2018. The winning song in the final will be selected over two rounds of voting: the first round results will select the top three songs via the 50/50 combination of jury and public voting, while the second round (super final) will determine the winner solely by public televoting. The ten songs in the Grand Final will be:

Sibyl Vane- "Thousand Words"

Stig Rasta- "Home"

Elina Netšajeva- "La Forza"
