Martin Algren And Jessica Andersson Win The Third Semi-Final Of Melodifestivalen 2018

The biggest and most popular Eurovision pre-selection show that is the 'Melodifestivalen' was back this evening for it's third semi final, which was held at the Malmö Arena in Malmö.  seven artists performed in the hope of qualifying for the grand final to be held on the 10th March 2018.  Tonight saw Martin Almgren with the song "A Bitter Lullaby" and Jessica Andersson with "Party Voice" advance to the final.  Mendez  and Moncho qualified for the second chance round.

 

Tonight's seven performers were:

 

Martin Almgren  - "A Bitter Lullaby"

Barbi Escobar-  "Stark"

Moncho-  "Cuba Libre"

Jessica Andersson-  "Party Voice"

Kalle Moraeus & Orsa Spelmän-  "Min dröm"

Dotter-  "Cry"

Méndez-  "Everyday"

 

It is no surprise to see Jessica qualify.  She has participated for Sweden at the Eurovision in 2003, as part of "Fame".  She is a fan favourite, and been present at the Melodifestivalen several times before.  Joining her is Martin Almgren, with Moncho and Mendez being put the through to the second chance round. Kalle Moraeus & Orsa Spelmän came fifth, Dotter came sixth, with Barbi Escobar coming last. 

 

Two more artists have now qualified for the final, they will  be joining John Lundvik, Benajmin Ingrosso, Samir & Viktor and LIAMOO.  The remaining list of shows are as follows:

 

Semi- Final 4 to be held on the 24th February 2018

Andra Chansen (Second Round) to be held on the 3rd March 2018

Melodifestivalen Final to be held on the 10th March 2018.
