Same Song, Different Country!!! How Denmark's "Higher Ground" Was Previously Submitted

It's the song that everyone seems to be talking about at the moment. "Higher Ground" sung by Rasmussen convincingly won 'Dansk Melodi Grand Prix' on Saturday, and has become somewhat of a fan favourite. It has now been revealed that the entry was in actual fact submitted to the Swedish Melodifestivalen selection process, prior to being accepted by Denmark. It seems therefore, what is Sweden's loss is Denmark's gain. Check out the song below:

The song itself was rejected by Sweden, with the original version intended for Dennis Bengtsson. However, as it didn't pass the selection stage, it was the Danes who picked it up. This, is not the first time that Denmark has taken a song from Sweden. In 2010, Chanée and N'evergreen sang "In a moment like this" which was initially submitted to Sweden. Subsequently, the Danes finished 4th in Oslo, whilst Sweden's Anna Bergendahl's, "This is my life" failed to qualify. This being the only time a Swedish song hasn't done so. Could history repeat itself again?

Last Saturday Rasmussen clearly won the public and jury vote. They qualified for the super final, and won a ticket to Lisbon winning 50% of the vote. Last year Anja Nissen qualified for the Grand Final in Kyiv, can this year's entrant do the same and score better. If you have not seen the Eurovoxx review yet, check it out below.
