This evening, Ukraine started off their Eurovision search to find its next representative to fly their flag in Lisbon. Nine artists participated tonight with the hope of reaching the grand final to be held on the 24th February 2018. Also present tonight were the judging panel that consisted of Andriy Danylko (Verka Serduchka), former Eurovision winner Jamala, and Eugene Filatov

The artists that qualified were decided by a professional jury and televoters that consisted of a 50/50 split. During the voting this years Czech Republic star Mikolas Josef sang his Eurovision entry, "Lie To Me", whilst O. Torvald who represented Ukraine last year also sang.

The three artists that qualified are:

1) Laud with the song, "Waiting"

2) The Erised with the song, "Heroe's"

3) Vilna with the song, "Forest Song"

There was a three way tie for third place with Vilna, pur;pur and Serhiy Babkin who all scored 12 points. However, it was Vilna who qualified because she received the highest number of votes in the televoting. The full result can be found below:

The second semi final for Ukraine's Vidbir will take place next Saturday on the 17th February 2018 where another three acts will join those that have qualified from today's show.
