Iceland | First Three Candidates Qualify For The Grand Final of Söngvakeppnin

It’s Söngvakeppnin o’clock in Iceland and the first semifinal which was held in Háskólabíó in Reykjavík has just ended. This evening there were some great and amazing performance from the following 6 songs: Ég mun skína (Shine) with Þórunn Antonía, Ég og þú (Think It Through) with Tómas Helgi Wehmeier & Sólborg Guðbrandsdóttir, Heim (Our Choice) with Ari Ólafsson, Kúst og fæjó with Heimilistónar, Aldrei gefast upp (Battleline) with the Fókus group, and Litir (Colours) with Guðmundur Þórarinsson,

The Icelandic nation had a 100% say in choosing the 3 acts that qualified to the Grand final on March 3rd, and in the end, it was the Fókus group, Ari Ólafsson and the jolly ladies in Heimilistónar who captured the people's vote at home. They are now one step closer to become Icelands next representative in Lisbon 2018.

The second semifinal of Söngvakeppnin will be held next Saturday, February 17th, where another 3 songs will be chosen to go forward to the Grand final.
