Five Songs Qualify For Semi Final One Of Eesti Laul

The third Baltic nation to broadcast their Eurovision pre-selection show tonight was Estonia, who opted for the traditional Eesti Laul to find their representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. Tonight, their Eurovision journey began as the country's first show began.
Estonia's first semi final consisted of ten singers, and songs that all battled it out for a place in the Grand final which is to be held on 3rd March 2018. A super Saturday indeed, as that date see's several countries select their Eurovision entrant. The ten performers and songs were as follows:
Vajé- "Laura (Walk with Me)"
Iiris & Agoh- "Drop That Boogie"
Etnopatsy- "Külm"
Sibyl Vane- "Thousand Words"
Aden Ray- "Everybody's Dressed"
Tiiu x Okym x Semy- "Näita oma energiat"
Stig Rasta- "Home"
Miljardid- "Pseudoprobleem"
Desiree- "On My Mind"
Elina Netšajeva- "La Forza"
The first four artist to qualify were selected by a 50/50 jury and public vote. Whilst the fifth qualifier was decided by second round of public voting. The top five artists that qualified were:
1) Vajé- "Laura (Walk with Me)"
2) Iiris & Agoh- "Drop That Boogie"
3) Sibyl Vane- "Thousand Words"
4) Stig Rasta- "Home"
5) Elina Netšajeva- "La Forza"
Next week will see Eesti Laual's second semi final with another five songs chosen to progress to the final. The final will be held on the 3rd March 2018 where the winning song will be selected over two rounds of voting: the first round results will select the top three songs via the 50/50 combination of jury and public voting, while the second round (super final) will determine the winner solely by public televoting.
