MADARA And Ritvars Win The Second Semi-Final Of Latvia's Supernova 2018

Last week saw Latvia kick of it's Eurovision pre-selection with it's 'Supernova' semi- final one that saw Edgars Kreilis and Liene Greifane qualify  for the Supernova final to be held on the 24th February 2018.  Tonight, the second semi-final took place, with the national broadcaster LTV hoping that who ever wins this competition will bring the coveted Eurovision trophy back to Riga.


Tonight's edition has seen two artists qualify for the Supernova grand final.  They were MADARA and Ritvars.  A change of voting has seen Latvian's only being allowed to cast one vote by SMS or phone, combined with the number of Spotify streams, as well as points given by the jury, that has meant these two artists qualify.  A total number of 21 artists will compete in three semi finals, of the Latvian national selection.  Each semi will only see two performers advance to the grand final to be held at the end of the month. 


Tonight, has seen the following seven artists to compete for their place in the 'Supernova' final to be held at the end of February:


1)  Hypnotic-  "Pray"

2)  MADARA"Esamība"

3)  Markus Riva-  "This Time"

4I)  n My Head-  "Sunset"

5)  Ritvars-  "Who's Counting?"

6)  Monta-  "1000 Roses"

7)  Riga Reggae-  "Stop the War U2"

Third Semi Final to be held on the 17th February 2018

The Grand Final to be held on the 24th February 2018
