Hands Up Music Are Behind Aron Hannes and two lithuanian artists entries
It has come to light that the Icelandic record company "Hands Up Music" are behind the three national selection songs in Iceland and Lithuania. One of which is sung by Icelandic singer Aron Hanes, and the other two by Lithuanian singers Germantė Kinderytė and Paula.
Last year Aron Hannes competed at Söngvakeppnin with his song 'Tonight (Nótt)' that made it to the TOP THREE. This young man has also won the Icelandic contest, Jólastjarnan, and in 2014 he participated in Iceland's Got Talent. This year it seems he wants to follow up on his previous successes, as both of his entries for last year and this year were produced by "Hands Up Music". Aron Hannes will be competing with the song "Gold digger" in the second semi-final of Söngvakeppnin , which will take on the 17th of February 2018. 'This is amazing, and we hardly know which way to turn. The Iceland Eurovision Grand Prix race has just started and it's exciting to see how the public receives "Gold Digger",' - says Hands Up Music manager, Valgeir Magnusson. This time, besides Siris (Sveinn Rúnar Sigurðsson), Valgeir Magnusson is also behind the music of Aron Hannes. The Icelandic singers most recent hits were "Sumarnótt", and "Morgunkoss" also written by this duo.
It seems, besides Aron Hannes, Hands Up Music have also contributed to two songs on Lithuania's Eurovizijos atranka. One of the songs is performed by 16 year old Germantė Kinderytė, who participated in 'The Voice of Lithuania' in 2017. 'Turn It Up' was not approved by the judges, as they only gave her 0 points, however she managed to get 10 points from the public, meaning she will compete in the first semi-final of Eurovizijos atranka on 10th of February 2018.
The second entry of Hands Up Music for Lithuania is Paula's '1 2 3'. She is not a stranger to Eurovision fans, as last year she became one of the fan favourites with her entry 'Let U Go'. Paula has appeared on many television shows and concerts. The young artist has performed in three of the biggest arenas in the Baltic states, and got two nominations at the Kid’s Choice Awards. Paula got 6 points from the jury and 12 from the public, which gives her a chance of representing Lithuania as she is placed in semi-final 1, to be held on the 10th February 2018.
Valgeir Magnusson adds: 'We're also extremely excited about the contest in Lithuania, where we've got two songs in the semi finals'. The manager of Hands Up Music also highlights: 'We haven't been involved in staging and production in Lithuania, but if either song wins, we'll probably get a say in how it will look in Portugal'.
