Israel's Call For Song Submission Officially Begins.

Israel's "Next Star" is well underway. The competition that is designed to find Israel's next Eurovision Song Contest participant only has two weeks left. With this in mind the national broadcaster IPBC have officially opened up their calls for songs to be submitted to the broadcaster within a couple of weeks.
Songs must be sent by February 19th at 10:00am local time in order to be considered. The rules state that:
1) Songs must not exceed 3 minutes in length.
2)The song must be at least bilingual and must be performed in Hebrew, English or a combination of both.
3) Songs must not have been released before September 1st 2017.
4) Songs are not allowed to contain anything that would damage the image of Eurovision/ Israel or of the EBU.
Composers and artists are allowed to send more than one song. These will be listened too and judged by a panel formed of representatives of the IBC (Israel Broadcasting Corporation). The songs will be judged similar to that of the voice, where the judges will not know about the composer at all. This will stop impartiality creeping in, and make the whole process fair.
The singer will be found using their national selection process called "The Next Star" which has seen over 100 artists participate over several months, with those numbers dwindling down tov eventually find the winner which will be found in the next two weeks.
