Benjamin Ingrosso And John Lundvik Win The First Melodifestivalen 2018

February 3, 2018

The biggest and most popular Eurovision pre-selection show that is the "Melodifestivalen" began this evening with the first semi final being held in Karlstad.  Seven artists performed in hopes of qualifying  for the final to be held on the 10th March 2018.  Tonight saw Benjamin Ingrosso and John Lundvik qualify, with Renaida and Sigrid Bernson go straight to the second chance round.

Tonight's seven performers were:

1)  Sigrid Bernson "Patrick Swayze"

2) John Lundvik "My Turn"

3)  Renaida "All the Feels"

4)  Edward Blom "Livet på en pinne"

5)  Kikki Danielsson "Osby Tennessee"

6)  Kamferdrops "Solen lever kvar hos dig"

7)  Benjamin Ingrosso "Dance You Off"

Edward Blom just missed out on a second chance position coming fifth.  In a dramatic turn of events it was very sad news for fan favourite Kikki Danielsson who failed to qualify for the Grand Final.  It was the tenth time that the Swedish star performed at the Melodifestivalen, but it was the first time she failed to qualify for the final, having sadly come last.

The remaining list of shows are as follows:

Semi-final 2 to be held on the 10th February 2018

Semi-final 3 to be held on the 17th February 2018

Semi-final 4 to be held on the 24th February 2018

Second chance round to be held on the 3rd March 2018

Final to be held on the 10th  March 2018
