Emmelie de Forest To Perform At Iceland's Söngvakeppnin 2018

January 31, 2018

Iceland seem to be bringing out all the big names, to attract viewers to watch its Eurovision national final Söngvakeppnin 2018.  we recently learnt that last years Swedish entrant Robin Bengtsson would be making an appearance, but now the national broadcaster RÚV are going to make it a very Nordic affair.  It has been announced that Emmelie de Forest will also be appearing at the final.  Last years entrant, the very talented Svala will also be present.

The Danish sweet heart made a name for herself back in 2013 when she won the contest in Malmo with her song "Only Teardrops" which saw the nation win the contest for the third time.  Since then she has had several albums, and was even recognised in 2015, by being present in London for the Eurovision Greatest Hits show.

The national final will see two semi finals being held on the 10th and 17th February 2018 that will see 12 artists compete to be selected for the Grand Final to be held on 3rd March 2018.  The following artists will sing it out to be Iceland's next Eurovision representative:

Ari Ólafsson

Aron Hannes

Dagur Sigurðarson

Guðmundur Þórarinsson

Rakel Pálsdóttir

Stefania, Agnes & Regína

Tómas & Sólborg

Þórir & Gyða

Þórunn Antonía
