The Netherlands | Waylon will reveal his song on March 10th

It has been reported by a Dutch news portal, NU.nl that Waylon will reveal his song for The Eurovision Song Contest 2018 on March 10th. However, this date has yet to be confirmed by Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS.

When Waylon spoke to the Dutch media about his Eurovision participation, he mentioned that he would be releasing his Eurovision song on March 10th alongside his new album, "The World Can Wait". Waylon also confirmed that he would be going on tour, starting on April 12th and finishing on September 30th, performing on no less than 30 stages during this time.

In November 2017, it was revealed that The Netherlands had internally selected Waylon as their representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, making it his second appearance at Eurovision.

Waylon, real name Willem Bijkerk, rose to fame in The Netherlands after appearing on the first season of Holland's Got Talent in 2008 where he finished in second place. Since then, he has released 4 albums, all of which have made the top 10.

In 2013, Waylon and Ilse deLange formed the duo The Common Linnets, who went on to represent The Netherlands at Eurovision 2014 in Copenhagen. With their song, "Calm After The Storm", they stormed into second place behind Conchita from Austria, and gave The Netherlands their best result since Teach-In won in 1975. They released an album of the same name and their song was a hit throughout Europe.
