JESC 2018 | Russia confirms participation



Russia has confirmed that they will be taking part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Minsk, Belarus.

They have also confirmed on their official VK page for Junior Eurovision that they will be making changes to their selection process. More details on these changes are expected in the coming weeks.


The 2018 Junior Eurovision in Minsk will be the 16th edition of the contest to date and it will also be the second time that Belarus is hosting the event, the first time being in 2010.

Belarus won the rights to host Junior Eurovision 2018 after a bidding process, due to their long term commitment to the competition.

 

Polina Bogusevich won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 for Russia with her song "Wings". with a record 188 points. This is the second time that Russia has won the contest, the first being in 2006 with the Tolmachevy Sisters and their song "Veseniy Jazz" (Spring Jazz). The Tolmachevy Sisters later went onto represent Russia in Junior Eurovision 2014. Polina also expressed at the winners press conference that she would be interested in taking part in Eurovision one day. So would you like to see Polina take to the Eurovision stage?
