All Change For Estonia As Mart Normet Leaves Eesti Laul

Mart Normet has been quite a steadfast person when it comes to Estonia at Eurovision. However, it has been revealed today that he will no longer be that familiar name when it comes to Estonia at the competition.

He has revealed this morning on Hommik Annuga that after ten years, this year will mark his last in charge of ERR, meaning he will not be in charge of helping decide which artist Estonia will send through to the Eurovision Song Contest.

It will also mark the last year that he will be head of delegation for the Baltic nation. He stated that, "It's time to move on and give someone this opportunity. I came here ten years ago, maybe someone ten years younger will be able to introduce this new energy here, and to see things in a different way".

Although, he has not discussed what his next role will be, Mr Nomet was keen to emphasise that he was looking forward to the future.

In the ten years that he was responsible for Estonia's Eurovision fortunes he was quite successful. In which he was responsible for five entries qualifying, and boasting three top 10 finishes.

The team at Eurovoxx would like to wish Mart Normett the best of luck. Could his successor bring Estonia a second victory? Stay tuned to find out.
