Serbia | Details Regarding National Final On Monday

Fans have been left in limbo in what Serbia are doing in regards to their national selection, but may have the news they have been looking and hoping for this forthcoming Monday.

Serbia confirmed that they would be returning to the national final format "Beovizija" which has not been used since 2009 to select their entry for Eurovision. It was first announced the deadline was October 20th, then got pushed back to November 10th, from there it was announced they had recieved 75 submissions, the last we heard on the national final was that the finalists were aparently to be revaled on December 8th as some outlets claimed in Serbia, this however turned out to be false.

However this afternoon the official Eurovision Twitter handle of the broadcaster RTS, posted the following:

From this we can confirm we will receive some news regarding the national final on January 22nd, however we do not know the number of acts to be announced, neither if it is just acts, acts and or songs, or maybe just the national final date which is expected to be taking place in February. When the rumour mill was at its peak with the artists announcement back in December, it was being rumoured Jelena Tomašević, who represented Serbia on home soil in 2008 would be taking part. Last year Serbia was represented by Tijana Bogicevic, who narrowly missed out on a spot in the final, placing 11th by a aganoising three points adrift of the the tenth and final spot.
