Festival da Canção Artist Details Released.

With only several months to go until Portugal has the honour of hosting the greatest musical show on earth, the national broadcaster RTP today have released several details in regards to their national final. There will be two semi finals culminating in a Grand Final to be held on the 4th March 2018.
The artists competing in the semi finals are as follows:
Semi Final 1 To Be Held On The 18th February 2018

Anabela (Fernando Tordo) – Para te Dar Abrigo
Joana Barra Vaz (Francisca Cortesão) – Anda Estragar-me os Planos
Janeiro (Janeiro) – Oficialmente (sem título)
Rui David (Jorge Palma) – Sem Medo
José Cid & Gonçalo Tavares (José Cid) – O Som da Guitarra é a Alma de Um Povo
JP Simões (JP Simões) – Alvoroço
Catarina Miranda (Júlio Resende) – Para Sorrir Eu Não Preciso de Nada
Joana Espadim (Benjamin) – Zero a Zero
Beatriz Pessoa (Mallu Magalhães) – Eu Te Amo

In the list there are several notable artists. Two former Eurovision performers have been selected to take part. Both José Cid (1980) and Anabela (1993) have graced the Eurovision stage before. Also, RTP have chosen a former "Pop Idol" and "The Voice" winner.
The two semi finals will take place in Lisbon on the above dates. Each show will consist of 13 artists each, with 7 from each semi going through to the Grand Final. The Festival da Canção final will take place on the 4th March 2018. 14 finalists will compete, with the winner being decided through a 50/50 jury and public televote.
