It was highly expected and rumoured the Croatian broadcaster HRT would be returning to the national selection format "Dora" to find their next representative, but this week, it has come out Croatia could infact be selecting internally again and three names are top of the list.
The names within the rumour mill are: Damir Kedžo, Franka Batelić and Indira Levak. Indira has been a judge on The Voice Croatia since 2015, and if selected would keep in theme in every artist being linked to the show since they returned, with Jacques Houdek also being a judge and Nina Kralijic winning the first season with mentor Jacques. In both previous years, both artists were heavily rumoured to be taking part before their official announcements.
Croatia returned to the contest in 2016, after withdrawing from the 2014 and 2015 contests, citing a string of bad results and financial crisis as for doing so, before Nina Kralijic qualified in 2016, Croatia had not featured in the Grand Final since 2009. As of yet no date has been given or any artist announcement or national final announcement if they wish to use their route of selection.
