Yulia Samoilova's Flame Is Still Burning

It was the Eurovision story that captivated the continent last year, when Russian representative Yulia Samoilova was chosen to represent her home nation at the competition with her song, "Flame Is Burning", only to be denied by Ukraine who accused her of breaking their laws by entering Crimea via Russia. The whole issue caused furore, and led to the EBU imposing sanctions on Ukraine.

Regardless of this, Yulia has not let this get her down and continued with her music, Since then the official video accompanying the song has been released by Russian Broadcaster Channel One. Check the video below:

The song released on New Years Eve has had a couple of thousand hits. She performs in a rather festive setting. There is lots of snow and several Christmas trees where she sings dressed in a red cloak.

There is still hope that the much loved artist will still have a chance to sing at Eurovision. Although she failed to in Kyiv, the broadcaster Channel One stated that she would be Russia's next representative. However, since this initial statement several months ago, nothing has been announced officially or confirmed.
