Saara Aalto Has Chosen The Songs For Finland's UMK 2018

In a change of presentation this year, Finland has decided to go internal and select the well known artist Saara Aalto. Sticking to the national final Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2018 (UMK), Saara will sing three songs during the televised final to be held on 3rd March 2018. Chosen initially on the 7th November 2017, many were delighted to see the fan favourite selected.
Following a different format, the broadcaster Yle has decided one artist only shall compete in the national final instead of several. It is hoped that Saara will see the Nordic country qualify for the Grand Final, something which has not been achieved since 2014.
Earlier this morning the Finnish beauty revealed via her Twitter account that she had selected the three songs to compete, and that it was "Exciting".

It hasn't be revealed who has written these three songs yet, however several Eurovision song writers have been rumoured to have been working with her recently. Those include legendary Thomas G:son (wrote Euphoria and many other Eurovision hits), along with Linnea and Joy Deb (wrote Heroes). If this is true, the combination of a very popular and talented artist Saara, with winning song writers could see Finland take the Eurovision crown in Lisbon.
She is no stranger to Eurovision having stated several times that she would love to represent Finland at the contest. She has competed at UMK twice. The first was in 2011 with the self penned song "Blessed with Love", and the second was in 2016 with the song "No Fear". On both occasions she finished second. This time, the artist is guaranteed to represent her home nation. Saara also rose to prominence in the UK too, where she again finished second on the thirteenth series of X Factor.
Finland has the artist, and three songs, all that is left now is for the country to chose the winning song. Team Eurovoxx will be there live in March so stay tuned for further announcements. Good Luck Saara!!!
