Tonight was the second semi-final of the 56th edition of Festivali i Këngës 56 - the three day music festival which ultimately selects the Albanian representative for Eurovision.

Hosted by Adi Krasta, the two semi-finals saw a total of 22 acts perform, with some familiar faces from previous editions, including Orgesa Zaimi, Lorela and LYNX.

Check out our Top 5 prior to the semis here...

Before the contest Xhesika Polo and LYNX were big fan favourites and expected contendors for the crown, but neither advanced to the final from their semi final.

Tomorrow night these songs will compete in the final of Festivali i Këngës - with the winner becoming the first song selected for Eurovision 2018 in Lisbon.

Albania failed to reach the final of Eurovision this year, with Lindita Halimi and her song 'World' failing to make it past the semi-finals. Their entry for Lisbon will be their 15th attempt at the Eurovision crown, and they will be hoping to improve on their best placing so far, when they achieved 5th in 2012 with Rona Nishliu's 'Suus'
