The first finalist for San Marino's Eurovision 2018 selection has been chosen and it is none other than Emma Sandström from Finland!
Many fans might recognise Emma as she finished in 3rd place in Finland's national final, Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) this year with her song 'Circle of Light'. Although one of the favourites to win the ticket to Kiev, Emma had to settle for 3rd place behind winners Norma John and runner-up Zühlke.
Emma impressed fans and OGAE with her rendition of 'Rise Up' by Andra Day. OGAE members from Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Malta, the United Kingdom, the rest of the world and Eurovision press all voted for their favourite acts in a Eurovision-style voting, with Emma coming out on top, followed by Franklin Calleja from Malta in 2nd place and Sada Vidoo from Denmark taking 3rd place.
San Marino's national final will start in January 2018 with the grand final taking place in February. The date has yet to be announced.
