ESC 2018 | TRM reveal details for 2018 national selection

TRM, the national broadcaster of Moldova today announced details about the national selection for Eurovision 2018. Just like in previous years, the festival 'O melodie pentru Europa' will once again be the way of selecting the representative for Eurovision 2018. TRM has announced that from today until January 15, interested artists can send in their songs. Foreign authors can participate, but they must make up no more than 50% of the songwriting team.


The jury will select 35 songs for live auditions, and then from then, 16 semifinalists will be selected. The festival will have one semifinal that will be held on February 22nd and a grand final two days later on February 24th. The jury will be revealed at the National Final. At the semi-final 50% of the decision regarding the 10 finalists will be made by the jury, and 50% by the viewers via televote 


At Eurovision 2017, Moldova took third place with the song 'Hey Mamma' by Sunstroke Project, giving Moldova their best result in the contest since their debut in 2005.
