The Eurovision 2018 season is well upon us. A full list of 43 participating nations have been announced, and we have already had several countries confirm their artists. Since Portugal won their first ever contest in May of this year, the mediterranean island of Cyprus has been one of those nations that have been the most vocal in regards to their intentions for Lisbon.
The national broadcaster CyBC have already announced that they intend to hold a national final for their 2018 song. This is a refreshing change from the last two years which has seen them select internally. The broadcaster also released details that world famous Greek-Swedish songwriter Alex P (Alexander Papaconstantinou) would write the song for the winning artist of their national final. He has previously written for Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias, and is also the man credited with Cyprus' 2012 Eurovision entry "La La Love".
Yesterday the broadcaster posted on their official Facebook page that they have chosen their 3 member panel who will help determine Cyprus' next Eurovision entrant. This panel includes Christer Bjorkman who has become synonymous with Eurovision and Melodifestivalen over the previous years. Also, present at the table was the songwriter Alex P and choreographer Charis Savvas.

Cyprus will chose their next Eurovision entry in January 2018 where their national final will be aired. CyBC have announced the winner will be chosen through a combined jury and televote.
