Saara Aalto To Represent Finland In Eurovision 2018
YLE held there press confrence event for the upcoming selection UMK, in a twist it was announced only one artist will compete in the show, and it's UMK 2016 & X Factor 2016 runner up Saara Aalto.

It was announced Saara will be competing against herself, much like Greece's tactic with Demy last year, the show to select Saara's song will take place on March 3rd 2018 at the Espoo Arena, Saara will have three songs, and the winning song will be decided by a combination of the Finnish public and a international jury.
Saara has twice before tried to represent Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest, firstly back in 2011 where she placed second with her song "Blessed With Love" she returned back in 2016 where she again placed second with "No Fear" despite finishing second she won the televote, after her second disappointment in UMK, she went to England to follow her dream of an international career and entered X Factor UK, after hitting a bump and being eliminated by mentor Sharon Osbourne at the Six Chair Challenge, she was brought by into the competition the stage after as an wildcard, with this second chance, she ran with it and despite falling into the bottom two on three occasions walked away from the show with second pace .
Krista teased who the artist was saying they had an international record deal, performed around the world and said it has also been their dream to perform at Eurovision, she also stated the expectations were high for Finland going into Lisbon and that they were confident they can win the whole thing in 2018.
