David Lindgren To Host Melodifestivalen 2018
Today SVT have announced the hosts - or in this case, host of Sweden's blockbuster forthcoming national selection - Melodifestivalen.

This will be the second successive edition David has hosted, last year he hosted the 2017 contest along Clara Henry and Hasse Anderson, David also is only the third person to host the show in successive years, with Kristian Luuk being the first in 2007 & 2008, and then Gina Dirawi in 2012 & 2013.
This will however be David's fifth time invovled in the contest, having previously competed on three occasions, the first entry came back in 2012 with "Shout It Out" which placed 4th in the final, he returned the following year with "Skyline" which polarized the jury and public, the jury ranked it third, only Ulrik Munther and eventual winner Robin Stjenberg placing higher, but the public voted it last in the final, meaning he finished down in 8th overall, this third and final attempt to date came back in 2016, when he returned with the "We Are Your Tomorrow" he advanced again directly to the final from heat two but again failed to stand out in the final, placing joint 10th with the juries, scoring only eleven points and for the second time, coming last with the public vote, he finished 11th in the final with 39 points. David however is one of only few acts to advanced directly to the final from their heat three or more times, other notable acts to achieve this include Ace Wilder, Måns Zelmerlöw and Sanna Nilesen,
The winner of Melodifestivalen 2018 which begins in Karlstad on February 3rd will be the chosen act for Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest, Sweden are also just one victory away from tieing with Ireland for the record number of contest wins which currently stands at seven. Sweden's last victory came in 2015 when Måns Zelmerlöw won with the song "Heroes"
