Depi Evratesil to select the Armenian act for Lisbon
The Armenian broadcaster revealed how they planned to select their act to Lisbon, Portugal this year with some changes with the format of Depi Evratesil, their national selection.
Earlier today, the YouTube channel of Depi Evratesil posted a video about the return of the Armenian National selection. The country decided for the second year in a row to showcase once again talented Armenian artists. Though some changes were made compared to the last year national selection.
Last year, Armenia announced very early their ambition to do a national final to select only their act for Kyiv and it started to broadcast the national selection beginning of October 2016 until December 2016 where Artsvik won over Marta. Later, Artsvik's song "Fly With Me" was revealed several months after the show ended.
For 2018, AMPTV, the Armenian broadcaster decided to shorten the format to 4 live shows only, with no dates announced at the moment. The competition is open to all Armenian citizens, but also for people who are part of the Armenian diaspora and they have until the 15 of December to submit their own song.
Yes, their own song ! That means that we will not only know the artist who will wave the Armenian flag in Lisbon, but also the song which should be created especially for the competition and not have been performed before.
Will it be enough to bring a first ever victory to Armenia? That will be known in Lisbon, Portugal during the Eurovision Song Contest the 8th, 10th and 12th of May 2018.
