Same Venue, New Name - MEO Arena Becomes Altice Arena
On July 25th RTP had confirmed what we were all thinking, in that Lisbon would host Eurovision 2018 and it would be hosted at the 20'000 cpacity venue MEO Arena, which has held many concerts, sporting events and much much more, but when you land in Lisbon next May, don't be looking for the venue under that name anymore.

It has been announced the once MEO Arena has changed its official name and now is known as the Altice Arena, its original name was Pavilhão Atlântico - the Atlantic Hall in English when it was first constructed and used back in 1998, it then changed names to the MEO Arena back in 2013 when the company MEO, a large telecoms company in Portugal became the main sponsor of the arena. The name change has come from the company Altice, a multinational telecommunications company original based in The Netherlands and backed by French billionaire Patrick Darhi and has MEO listed a subsidiary company under its name has been going under a rebranding move in Portugal and therefore changed the name across.

Eurovision 2018 will be taking place at the Altice Arena on the 8th, 10th and 12th May 2018. Team Eurovoxx hope to be there and hope to see you there as well!
