Malta To Select February 3rd
Malta sure are loving giving us any and every detail they can about their selection nice and early! First we had the shortlist of 30 acts, then we had the final 16 announced, and now five days later we have the confirmed date of which the 16 acts will compete for the right to sing in Lisbon.

Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2018 will be taking place on February 3rd it has been announced by TVM, in similar fashion to last year, the winner is being solely decided by the public televote alone, no juries will be used in selecting their artist, last year Claudia Faniello won the selection by a narrow margin of just 452 votes ahead of second place Janice Mangion.
As well as announcing the date, they also drew and announced who would open and close the show, again similar to their 2017 selection, they also did the same thing for Junior Eurovision Song Contest when they hosted in 2016, it was drawn that Aidan shall open the show with "Dai Laga" with Petra closing the show with her song "Evolution" Claudia won the show from the closing position last year, so a good omen for Petra?
