Bulgaria Confirmed For Eurovision 2018

Bulgaria's Eurovision history has been a bit of a "Beautiful Mess" (apologies for the awful pun) but the Eurovision 2017 runners up have finally confirmed they will be competing in Lisbon in 2018. Bulgaria in their first stint in the contest only made the final once between their debut in 2005 through to 2013, in 2014 and 2015 their did not participate,

iting funding and the participation fee, although it was highly speculating it was a decision made due to their poor form in the competition. However since their return in 2016, both their comeback entries have won over the juries and public alike and scored the nation two consecutive top five finishes! Poli Genova returned and took 4th place with her song "I Love Was A Crime" only to be beaten the following year by Kristian Kostov and his entry "Beautiful Mess" taking second place behind winners Portugal.

BNT had initially confirmed their participation over the summer shortly after Kyiv 2017 came to to a close, but after a new Director General for BNT was to be elected between July and August, their participation had to be withdrawn and left their presence in Lisbon in the balance, but following the election of their new Director General - Kostantin Kamenarov their participation has been reinstated and can expect them in Lisbon.

BNT have not said how their act will be selected but for both 2016 & 2017 they opted to select internally, with both acts having a lot of previous performance and live televised experienced, with Poli representing Bulgaria back in 2011 and Kristian featuring on The Voice Kids Russia and X Factor Bulgaria.
