Malta | 30 Songs Shortlisted For Maltese National Final

Malta is the next Mediterranean Island to declare details of their national final today. Just a couple of hours ago the Maltese national broadcaster TVM released details of the shortlisted songs that they have selected to be part of their selection show to chose who will represent them at next years Eurovision in Lisbon.
The broadcaster made an appeal back in July for song writers to submit their entries for TVM to shortlist. It was open to all artists and composers who are from Malta.
This year they received 129 entries which is a decrease in the amount that was presented last year. This may have had something to do with Claudia Faniello failing to progress to the final at this years contest. From the 129 songs they have received, TVM have narrowed it down to 30.
However, over the next few weeks the panel will once again sift through the entries, and a total of 16 will be chosen to perform in Malta's national final (MESC) which is expected to be held in February 2018. Again, just like last year, the country has opted for the televote, and this alone will determine 100% which artist will follow in Claudia's shoes.
The list of artists and songs are as follows:
Abire Sekkaki – "Casablanca love"
