Confirmed | Italy will perform in Lisbon!!

Since their return in 2011 after a significant hiatus, Italy have become a force to be reckoned with when it comes to Eurovision, so it will be no surprise that RAI (the Italian National broadcaster) have confirmed that the Mediterranean powerhouse will be joining the party in Lisbon next year.
As is tradition, Italy's entry will be selected via the infamous Sanremo song festival, which has sent us the likes of Francesco Gabbani, Il Volo and Nina Zilli in recent years, and helped Italy achieve some decent final placings, including 2nd in 2011 with Raphael Gualazzi and Madness of Love, and Il Volo's 3rd in 2015 with their gorgeous slice of pop-era Grande Amore.
Francesco Gabbani's song Occidentali's Karma was hotly tipped to win the contest in Kyiv this year, however a dancing ape wasn't enough to bring them victory, and Francesco only managed to finish in a still very respectable 6th place. Italy will be hoping to finish higher next year in Lisbon.
So the big five looks to be complete when it comes to Lisbon 2018, but what do you think? Who should Italy send? What is your favourite Italian entry of all time? Don't forget to let us know in the comments below.
