JESC 2017 | It's Mina Blažev for Macedonia!

Earlier this month, auditions took place to find Macedonia's representative for Junior Eurovision 2017 and fourteen year old Mina Blažec from Skopje has been chosen as the thirteenth Macedonian participant in Junior Eurovision. Mina's song is due to be released in the coming weeks.

Mina is no stranger to performing and singing, having been singing since a young age. Most recently, she took part in Pinkove Zvedzice, a popular singing competition in the Balkans for kids and teenagers. Martija Stanojkovic (Macedonia 2016) and Lena Stamenković (Serbia 2015) both took part in this show as well.

Macedonia in Junior Eurovision

Macedonia took part in the first edition of Junior Eurovision in 2003 with their song "Ti Ne Me Poznavaš" sung by Marija and Victorija, finishing in 12th place out of 16 countries. Macedonia participated every year since then up until 2011, achieving their best results in 2007 and 2008 where they finished in 5th place. They took a break from the contest in 2012 and returned in 2013 where they unfortunately finished in last place. They took another break in 2014 and returned to the 2015 contest, only to finish in last place again. In last years contest in Valletta, Malta, they were represented by Martija Stanojkovic with her song "Love Will Lead Our Way". Despite being one of the pre-contest favourites, Martija ultimately crashed out in 12th place.
