Turkey will not participate in Eurovision 2018!
Over the past few weeks, there have been rumours circulating that Turkey would be returning to Eurovision in 2018.
Previous winner Sertab Erener (2003) announced that Turkey would be returning to the contest via a live video on her Instagram page. MaNga, who achieved second place for Turkey in 2010, also tweeted about a possible return for Turkey, and even suggested that they would like to represent their country again.
But today, the Turkish Broadcaster Türkiye Radyo ve Televizyon Kurumu (TRT) announced that Turkey would not be present at Eurovision 2018. The Deputy Prime Minister sent out this tweet, which says: No Eurovision Song Contest.

Since they withdrew from the contest in 2013, fans have been eagerly awaiting for Turkey to return; but it seems like they will have to wait at least another year.
Turkey's last participation was in 2012. Can Bonomo finished in 7th place with his song "Love Me Back". Check out his performance below:
