JESC 2017 | Poland confirms participation and date for National Final.

After confirming their participation in Junior Eurovision 2017 in Tbilisi, Georgia, Poland have now confirmed that they will select their participant for Junior Eurovision via a televised national final on October 1st.

All candidates wishing to take part have until September 11th to submit their songs. All candidates must be between 9-14 and their songs must be original and cannot have been previously released. The winner of the national final will be decided by a mix of jury vote and televote.

This year will mark the second consecutive appearance of Poland in Junior Eurovision since their return last year after a 13 year hiatus.

Poland made their debut in the very first Junior Eurovision Song Contest held in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2003. They didn't get off to a great start though; Kasia Żurawik finished in last place and only managed 3 points with her song "Coś mnie nosi" In 2004, the contest came to Lillehammer in Norway. Hoping to improve upon their last place, they were represented by a girl group called KWADro who sang their uptempo song "Łap życie". Unfortunatley, it was second time unlucky for Poland as they finished in last place again, and with only 3 points.

Fast forward to 2016 and Poland announced that they would returning to the contest. They had a televised national final and a mix of jury and televote selected Olivia Wieczorek with her song "Nie zapomnij". Olivia finished in a respectable 11th place, earning a total of 60 points.
